Philcade Building - 5th & Boston

This photo will be on Exhibit at The Gilcrease Museum beginning March 5th, 2020.
One of the most beautiful examples of Art Deco is located inside the Philcade Building at 5th & Boston. The lines, curves, arches, and color on the ceiling have always had significant meaning to me because my husband and I bought our first house back in 1987 from the artist who hand-painted this beautiful ceiling in the 1930’s – Channing Reese Stewart (1903-1989). A piece of C.R. Stewart is always with us.
The impressive arcade was designed in the shape of a “T for Tulsa, my kind of town.
